The Benefits of Walking

Ever since I was young, my parents and I have always enjoyed going on walks together. I was always intrigued by the number of other people out walking, and I found it fascinating how walking can bring people together. A few years ago, during a family trip to Glacier National Park in Montana, I reflected on this while observing the people around me. I wondered how far they had traveled to experience these trails and whether they chose to walk or simply drove to different points.

On a sunny Wednesday morning during my trip, I noticed the diverse ways people chose to experience their surroundings. Throughout my life, I have observed that not everyone walks enough—some do not appear healthy, which makes me wonder how they get around. There are clear differences between those who walk on a regular basis and those who do not. Walking has always been a central part of my routine, and I cannot imagine living without it. Here is why incorporating daily walks into your life can be so beneficial.

Walking offers numerous benefits : it lowers blood sugar, eases joint pain, boosts your immune system and energy, aids in keeping off weight, and promotes longevity of life. Physical health aside, walking is great for improving mental health. When I walk, not only do I get a physical benefit, but I also get the mental benefit as walking helps my moods and clears my mind. In addition, walking stimulates blood flow which enhances your cognitive function. Our bodies are designed to move. So, use your body to its fullest and go out and take your daily walk.

One of the things that I love after taking a walk is drinking 50Cups iced green tea. Grab your shoes, hit the trail, drink some tea, and enjoy life!
